Thank you for an amazing time this year!

See you in 2025!

Beer Meets Sustainability

We are excited to invite you back next year to Shade City Brewfest at the Idaho Botanical Garden! This groovy ’70s-inspired, sustainability-driven, beer-filled jamboree was dreamed up by a group of people with two priorities: drinking delicious beer and creating a space to share local, sustainable business practices and ideas.

Created by Lost Grove Brewing, Idaho Botanical Garden, and Treasure Valley Canopy Network, Shade City Brewfest has a mission to explore the ways that the brewing community and businesses around Idaho can reduce their impact on the environment while still holding fun events featuring local food and drinks. This two-day Brewfest will celebrate Idaho’s beer scene while generating conversations around sustainability, environmental impact, and waste reduction.

What to bring

Disclaimer
Everyone attending will have bag and ID checks at the door.
Bring your own cup!
We know you have a steel pint glass, a cup from other beer fests, or even an old coffee mug you can grab. We don’t care what kind of cup you bring (except, please, no glass)—just bring one!
A water bottle.
It’s essential to stay hydrated. We will have water stations around the ‘fest so you can refill. Please bring your water bottle empty and fill it at the water station when you arrive.
A ‘70s outfit!
We are keeping things groovy in honor of the first Earth Day on April 22, 1970. Dress up in your finest ‘70s attire and get ready to get funky.
An alternative transportation plan!
Ride your bike, walk, run, scooter, or ride a bus to Shade City and raise a glass to reduce your carbon footprint.
Respect for The Garden.
Please do not walk in any garden beds or plant areas. There are sleeping plants that we don't want to trample.

What not to bring

A chair.
We will have seating available, or you can find a nice grassy resting spot. The Garden has limited space, so plan on sharing some elbow room with your neighbors!
Children or dogs
We love your kiddos and your pups, but this party is for humans over 21 years old (this also applies to infants). Only service animals are allowed.
A cooler or outside food or drinks
We will have tons of beverages for you to enjoy! Beer, cider, NA beverages, and a variety of food will be available for purchase, so there is no need to bring any with you.
Weapons of any kind
No weapons are permitted in the Idaho Botanical Garden. Leave them at home!

Getting Here

Ride your broom, bike, or dragon. We love our planet, and we love it when our guests use alternative forms of transportation. The Boise Green Belt makes for an excellent pre-event experience. But if driving is a must, here are some directions!
