Rooted – Summer Events at IBG
By: Erin Anderson, Executive Director | 06/29/2020
We have met with Central District Health, and as of right now summer events at the Garden are a go! We have worked hard to create events that allow you to come to the Garden and celebrate as a community.
Keeping our distance
Like many other organizations and businesses, we have limited the number of guests that can attend events. With 15 acres of cultivated space, there is plenty of space to spread out. Our garden monitors will be keeping an eye on the number of people in certain areas and will have great alternatives for you if an area fills up. Trails that don’t have enough room will either be turned into one-way paths or closed for the time being.
We encourage you to buy your ticket or admission in advance. With limited staff and increased safety precautions, things might take longer at the gate. Pre-purchased tickets help you stay more socially distant and will allow you to walk right in!
Keeping things clean
With so many awesome guests coming to the Garden for events, we are upping our sanitation game. High-use areas like restrooms and the water filling station will be cleaned every 15 minutes. We have also closed the drinking fountains, so be sure to bring a water bottle and use the water station in Outlaw Field to stay hydrated!
Keeping our masks on
We believe masks are kind of a big dill, and so does the health department. Our staff will proudly wear theirs while within 6 feet of others. We highly suggest that all guests wear their masks while entering and wandering the Garden, as well as when interacting with others.
We have partnered with many businesses and organizations to reimagine how we can continue to host events at the Garden for you. With your support in these efforts, these events will help the Garden stay open and help the community come together and celebrate.
