Private Gardens Tour 2019 Announced

By: Corey King, Marketing and Communication Director | 07/30/2018

Idaho Botanical Garden accepting nominations in Boise’s Highlands Area

The Idaho Botanical Garden is planning for the 2019 Private Gardens Tour of residential gardens in the Treasure Valley. The 2019 tour will showcase gardens in Boise’s Highlands area, near Hill Road and Bogus Basin Road. Idaho Botanical Garden is seeking recommendations for private, residential gardens, in this area.

“The Tour is in its 35th year and is an essential garden event for the avid or the amateur gardener alike. Each home highlights something unique, giving other homeowners ideas and inspiration to create an oasis in their own backyard.” Erin Anderson, Executive Director

The Private Gardens Tour highlights 8-10 homes each year. Selected home garden owners will allow members of the community to wander through their yard Sunday, June 9, 2019. Homeowners do not need to be home for the tour, as Idaho Botanical Garden provides event staff at each location.

“I love sharing my passion for gardening with others.  The attendees are respectful, appreciative, and provide great feedback. I always learn something new,” Kathy Yoshida, 2018 Private Gardens Tour homeowner.

To nominate a garden, please provide the physical street address, along with the owner’s name and contact information to Nell Lindquist, Garden Tour Search Coordinator, via: email or by calling 208-275-8614. And, for future garden tours, we always love to hear about great gardens anywhere in the Treasure Valley!

The Mission of the Idaho Botanical Garden is to provide a full garden experience for all ages that enhances community quality of life through plant collections, our education programs, and our entertainment, cultural and community events.
