Did you know that winter is a great time to prune most woody plants? Join the Idaho Plant Doctor, Sierra Laverty to learn how, what, when, and where of dormant season pruning for backyard gardens. From native shrubs to fruit trees, pruning perennials extends their lifespan, renews them for flower and fruit production, and cuts out harmful diseases. Pruning is an essential, but often missed practice in home gardens. You’ll learn basic rules that apply to most situations, specifics for some plants, and most importantly, how to learn more! Badly pruned plants can do more harm than good—join this class to learn proper pruning techniques that will set your garden up for success. Class will cover pruning that homeowners can do from the ground or with a small ladder, proper tools, and pruning resources.
