Land Art Exhibit – March 14 through April 30
Sunday, March 15th 2020 • 9:00am - 5:00pm • Friday, May 01st 2020
The Idaho Botanical Garden presents an art opening for a major new site‐specific Land Art Exhibit at the Garden on Saturday, March 14, from 2‐4 p.m. This is a free event!
The 2020 Land Art Exhibit is made possible in part from a grant by the Idaho Commission on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
This is Idaho Botanical Garden’s second annual Land Art Exhibit and will feature works using natural materials such as clay, leaves, seeds, stones, wood, and wool. These pieces challenge artists to think about creating art that does not permanently occupy a space. Due to the nature of these natural art pieces, the display will decay and decompose over time.
The exhibit will be on display at the Idaho Botanical Garden, March 14 through April 30, during regular Garden hours. The public is encouraged to visit the Garden and experience each of the unique creations.
“The Garden serves as an outdoor art gallery, and we exhibit many sculptures on the Garden grounds. We are thrilled to bring these works to the Garden!” said Erin Anderson, Executive Director.
The Idaho Botanical Garden provides a full garden experience for all ages that enhances community quality of life through plant collections, education programs, and entertainment, cultural and community events.
“We grow our community by connecting people, plants and nature,” Erin said. “I look forward to seeing our guest gather in the Garden in March!”
