Growing The Green: The Fine Art of Lawn Maintenance

Wednesday, June 10th 2020 • 6:30pm - 8:00pm

Susan Bell, UI Horticulturist
Growing acres of turf around the castle was an ancient tradition. Having a lawn out front of your castle today is still a time-honored tradition. Learn how to save yourself time and money by keeping up your own lawn. Come join us for a journey of green discovery with University of Idaho Horticulturist, Susan Bell, into the world of lawn grasses. She will discuss best management practices for a healthy, sustainable lawn and labor-saving secrets. Topics will include the benefits of a lawn; how to choose the right grass species; whether to seed or sod; ways to fertilize, water, and mow to achieve stunning results; and the purpose behind dethatching and core aerating. Whether your lawn is the size of a postage stamp or you mow acres of verdant carpet, you’ll be inspired at how easy keeping a green lawn can be.
