Flowers and More Workshop

Class is limited to 12 participants. Materials provided: a printed canvas, needles, threads, and instructions.
A two part class. Tuesdays, October 8 (Part I) & Tuesday, October 15 (Part II) at 6:30 p.m. If you register for one, you are set for both!
Students must bring embroidery scissors and a set of 10-inch and a set of 12-inch stretcher bars, and thumbtacks. Stretcher bars can be found at local fabric stores and on-line at www.123stitch.com. They are sold in sets of two. Students can add threads, beads and other embellishments to the final design.
Using a prepared canvas with a garden photograph, students will learn of variety of stitches to create a garden scene and needlework sample. Stitches will include Florentine, Smyrna cross stitch, satin stitch, long-armed cross stitch, eyelets, and cross stitch. The first session will start with mounting the canvas in the frame and will cover basic needlework techniques and at least three stitches. The second session will cover at least 5 additional stitches for the completed sampler design.
