Nature Camp

Nature Camp is a morning science program designed for children ages 4-9 to participate in games, crafts and nature walks at the Idaho Botanical Garden.

Each class meets Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM-noon. The campers are divided into two classes by age. Each class is limited to 20 children and is supervised by an adult teacher and two aides.

2018 Nature Camps

July 16-20 Classes: Ages 5 & 6, 7-9
The monarch butterfly’s colorful wings tell predators to stay away – This insect is not a tasty snack! A cottontail rabbit avoids the attention of teeth and claws by sitting very still. Will you survive this week of camp? Take a hint from some of nature’s best survivors and you just might!

July 23-27 Classes: Ages 5 & 6, 7-9
Idaho is a land of rocky mountains, green forests, sun-scorched desert, and cool river canyons. High and low, hot and cool, these places are full of plant and animal life. Come outside with the Botanical Garden to meet your wilderness neighbors and the places they call home!

July 30-August 3 Classes: Ages 4, 5 & 6
Does the thought of a worm make your stomach churn? Are you shy around a fly? Would you ever hug a slug? Come explore the world through the eyes and senses of all things creepy crawly, and discover how cool these creatures really are.

August 6-10 Classes: Ages 5 & 6, 7-9
We are delighted to inform you that you have a place at the Idaho Botanical School of Witchcraft & Wizardry.
Term begins Summer 2018. Please respond via owl at your earliest convenience.

August 13-17 Classes: Ages 4, 5 & 6
Dig into the soil with the Botanical Garden this week as we seek the source of all that is sumptuously snacky.
Learn how to turn a seed into dinner from the ground up. Meet worms and pillbugs, harvest a salad to eat right away, and plant veggies for a fall feast.
