Nature Camp

Nature Camp is a morning science program designed for children ages 4-9 to participate in games, crafts and nature walks at the Idaho Botanical Garden.

Each class meets Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM – noon. The campers are divided into two classes by age. Each class is limited to 20 children and is supervised by an adult teacher and two aides.

2016 Nature Camps

July 11-15 Classes: Ages 5 & 6, 7-9
Have fun while learning how to keep the Earth and you healthy. Hands-on activities include: making traps for catching earwigs, exploring compost piles and visiting with the creatures that change dead plants into soil, and making recycled paper gift cards that have flower seed in them to be planted at home.

July 18-22 Classes: Ages 5 & 6, 7-9
Become a junior ecologist and study creatures on the ground, in the air, and in the water. Go on a nature walk in the Boise Foothills, identify trees and animal tracks. Record your favorite part of each day in your camp journal.

July 25 – 29 Classes: Ages 4, 5 & 6
We may live in Idaho, but it can still be a jungle out there. This week we explore everything from animals in the dirt to animals that soar in the sky and everything in between.

August 1-5 Classes: Ages 5 & 6, 7-9
Join us for a week of magic, myth and mystery at the Garden. Explore the connection between plants and folklore, search for the perfect fairy home in the Garden and create your very own fairy garden.

August 8-12 Classes: Ages 4, 5 & 6
See how human and animal food comes from dirt. Dig in the dirt, plant seeds, harvest vegetables, sing songs and meet an earthworm.
