The crisp feel of Fall isn’t in the air yet, but we are already looking forward to our 3rd Annual Scarecrow Stroll. Help us add to the fun of the season and our visitors’ enjoyment by contributing a scarecrow that you designed and created!

Scarecrow Stroll open Daily, September 25 – October 31, 2010.

Peeping out ‘round many trees and shrubs scarecrows welcome guests to the Garden this fall for the Third Annual Scarecrow Stroll! Scarecrows designed by local corporations, artists, and families join in on the fun and thousands of guests of all ages are able to view the crows and vote!

Admission: $4 adults, $3 seniors, $2 children 6-12), Members and children 5 and under are free!

Third Annual Scarecrow Design Contest 2010

Enter a scarecrow to showcase your business, school, club, organization – or sign up friends and family. Some organizations have effectively used their scarecrow to highlight an upcoming event or product, or fashion a crow to look like your school or club mascot. The design contest can be used a great team building activity for employees while creating the most fantastic scarecrow you can imagine.

For the first time, we are offering CASH prizes to winners sponsored by Key Bank. There are two chances to win either first place, second or third: The Gardener’s Choice Award or the Community Choice Award.

Gardener’s Choice Award - a small panel of judges comprised of local media, artists, gardeners and community members will select their favorite designs. Judges include Tim Johnstone from 94.9 The River and local artist Ward Hooper. Winners of The Gardener’s Choice award will be announced at the Harvest Festival on October 2.

Community Choice Award – Based on Votes from visitors to the Garden during the entire Stroll Sept. 25th – October 31. You can encourage friends to visit the Garden and vote for your design - The most votes win!

First Place Winners: $75.00 and 6 Garden Event Passes
Second Place Winners: $50.00 and 4 Garden Event Passes
Third Place Winners: $25.00 and 4 Garden Event Passes
Plus Bragging Rights for the entire year!

Help us add to the fun of the season and our visitors’ enjoyment by contributing a scarecrow that you designed and created! We are accepting scarecrow entry forms until September 17th. Delivery and set-up of scarecrows will be during the week of September 20-24. Please keep in mind when working on your design that we are unable to accept any scarecrow which represents a controversial social or political issue.
