Plant Collection
The Idaho Botanical Garden strives to improve and document its plant collections. Idaho Botanical Garden horticultural staff members have access to the database and are able to provide information to the public regarding about the Garden’s current permanent collections - Old Garden Roses and Lewis and Clark Plants. New collections will be added – Western Penstemons, Trees and Xeriscape Plants.

Education Programs
The Idaho Botanical Garden offers education programs for both adults and children. Many of the adult classes and workshops focus on vegetable gardening, ornamental horticulture, and garden crafts. Additional education resources include a small library and brochures describing what flowers are in bloom each month and an overview of Garden trees.

The Garden’s Youth Education Program serves over 11,000 children each year. One of the Garden’s goals is to nurture a child's fascination with the natural world through a variety of educational presentations including school field trips, spring and winter programs for preschool-age children, and summer botany camps.

Arts, Culture and Entertainment
Culture and the arts are interwoven into many of the Idaho Botanical Garden’s events and programs.

The Garden’s members only Spring Plant Sale helps kick off the growing season each year. Each summer, the Garden presents the Great Garden Escape Concert Series. Other special concerts at the Garden include Opera Idaho productions and the Garden’s Outlaw Field Concert Series.

The Garden’s Bug Day is a family event takes place each August. The Scarecrow Stroll, which runs September through October, allows local families and businesses the chance to show their creativity and display their artwork throughout the Garden. The Fall Harvest Festival celebrates the advent of fall with a weekend, family oriented celebration including music, food, hay rides, pumpkin picking, kids activities and more. The Garden ends each year with Winter Garden aGlow – 250,000 lights artistically displayed and viewed by over 65,000 visitors in 2011.

Private Events The Garden continues to fulfill its goal of providing a beautiful backdrop for events that bring our community together. The Idaho Botanical Garden also serves as a site for private groups to hold events such as weddings, receptions, and memorial services.
