Date(s) - Wed 8 Jun - Fri 24 Jun
9:30 am - 12:00 pm
Each June, children are taught about biology through games, walks and crafts. Three different biology subjects are offered and groups may register for one, two or all three topics.
Nature Detectives runs Wednesday-Friday at 9:30 am or 11 am. It is appropriate for children 4-6 years of age, and is intended for childcare groups only.
June 7-9: “Inch by Inch” – Learn about measurement through the story “Inch by Inch” and compare your size to Garden features.
June 14-16: “Flowers” – Explore the world of color using flowers.
June 21-23: “Itchy-Pokey” – Learn some of the ways that plants and animals protect themselves!
The fee is $2 per child. Accompanying adults are required to stay with their groups to supervise and offer assistance. Groups smaller than 10 will be charged $20.
Please contact the Garden at 208-343-8649 to register or to be added to the Nature Detectives mailing list.
Program times are 9:30 a.m. & 11 a.m. Choose a time and day then call the Garden at 343-8649 to make a reservation. Other groups may be attending along with yours, so it is important for all groups to arrive on time. We will take reservations for a session until we reach a total of 36 children; some sessions may not reach capacity.
After an introductory activity, the children will be divided into two groups for the remainder of the program. When possible your group will be kept together. We ask that your group’s adults stay with the children and assist during the lesson.
